This historic boat was on the shore of the southern branch of the Elizabeth River, just across from Great Bridge Lock Park in Chesapeake. An article on its imminent destruction ran in the Virginian-Pilot in early January 2005, which sparked me to take action. I couldn't save the boat (it was destroyed on February 20), but I did manage to document it in pictures. Ultimately it led to me creating this Web site, since so many historical sites and artifacts in this area are living on borrowed time. More on this vessel, including additional photographs, will be up soon.
